SCGIS Ukraine acted as co-organizers of the conference “Scientific research in the territories and objects of the natural reserve fund of the Kharkiv region”, which took place on February 4-6, 2019 at the Kharkiv National University.
Representative of SCGIS Andrew Tupikov made a report on the use of geoinformation systems in the protection of nature, the emergence of such an organization as the Conservation GIS (SCGIS). Within the framework of the conference during the round table “Status and problems of preservation of territories and objects of the nature reserve fund which do not have administrations”, he also made an overview of the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for research in protected areas and assessment of their condition, which is of particular importance for objects that do not have administration.
