GBIF: The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (gbif.org) is an international networked research infrastructure funded by the governments of more than 50 participating countries to aggregate and provide free and open information on biodiversity.
Currently (March 2020), the GBIF database contains information on more than 1.3 billion registrations of living organisms provided by more than one and a half thousand research institutions from around the world.
SCGIS Ukraine is working to prepare for Ukraine's official accession to the GBIF. But we are already raising awareness of GBIF and open data on biodiversity, as well as assisting Ukrainian research institutions in publishing data.
